April was about helping new users get to value faster. We improved the first-run experience inside the console and published more guidance for teams thinking about AI infrastructure in production.
Sandbox onboarding walkthrough
We added an interactive sandbox walkthrough that guides users through the core ModelRiver flow. The walkthrough helps users understand projects, workflows, provider setup, and the playground without having to read the docs first.
The flow includes clearer handoff cues, safer final run behavior, and refined guidance so users know what to do next instead of landing in an empty console.
Onboarding progress tracking
Onboarding state is now driven from the backend, with walkthrough completion tracking and improved progress UI. This makes the experience more reliable across sessions and lets users return to the console without losing their place.
Updated console sections
We refined onboarding-related console sections and sandbox project selection. The goal was to make the first project feel useful immediately, especially for users evaluating ModelRiver before adding production provider credentials.
Production AI gateway guidance
We published new educational content around why AI applications need a gateway layer and why Elixir + Phoenix is a strong foundation for that kind of infrastructure.
